“Slicing” of a component for producing a 3D printed part was invented in 1981 and is still used on 99% of all 3D printing technologies. This slicing method creates a weak part in the X/Y plane particularly in plastics. ADDCAAM in many cases more than doubles the strength in the X/Y plane and also eliminates porosity, rendering “Slicing” obsolete.
