Award Category: Critical Human Infrastructure

Award Sub-Category: Clean Water Technology

Argus is a living plant with nanosensors inside leaves that continuously monitor for heavy metal impurities in water. These electricity free sensors work 24/7 and produce fluorescence as an indication of good water quality. When impurities such as Lead/Pb2+ occur, the glow of these sensors is quenched, visibly indicating poor water quality.
